Thursday 5 December 2024 2425 Acorn - Jesus' Christmas Party Christmas has come to Acorn Class! There is now a sleigh and plenty of reindeer to pull it. There is also a Post Office, with plenty of parcels, letters and stamps which find their way into Santa's sack. The role play has been fantastic, with children joining together in their imaginary games.

Thursday 21 November 2024 2425 Acorn -The Three Little Pigs The snow that arrived on Tuesday caused great excitement. We went straight outside to play in it, even managing to build a snowman before cold fingers and toes got the better of us. On Thursday, we hunted in the playground for ice and brought it inside to investigate. We noticed that it was very cold, that it broke when we dropped it and that it had tiny little bubbles in it. After a while it melted, leaving puddles!

Thursday 16 May 2024 2324 Acorn - Lollipop Pheasant This book has lovely illustrations and reminded us how important it is to cross the road safely. We learnt a song which taught us to 'Stop, Think, Listen and Look' before we cross the road. We then went out on our balance bikes and followed a road track, stopping when the 'Lollipop Person' held up their sign to stop the traffic. We also practised walking safely along the pavement (round the track of the field) before going out on an adventure to the meadow. All the children that went listened really well, walked very sensibly, and enjoyed playing under the oak tree. Thank you to Mrs Grey, who kindly accompanied us on Monday.

Thursday 9 May 2024 2324 Acorn - Postman Bear At last we have some nice warm and sunny weather. This means that our focus has shifted somewhat to outdoor play and experiencing all the fun that our outdoor area has to offer. There has been an outdoor obstacle courses, car tracks and plenty of water play. Everyone feels brighter and livelier and our emotional check in board reveals that most of us are feeling happy (and hungry)! We had the discussion before lunch.
