Thursday 16 May 2024 2324 Acorn - Lollipop Pheasant This book has lovely illustrations and reminded us how important it is to cross the road safely. We learnt a song which taught us to 'Stop, Think, Listen and Look' before we cross the road. We then went out on our balance bikes and followed a road track, stopping when the 'Lollipop Person' held up their sign to stop the traffic. We also practised walking safely along the pavement (round the track of the field) before going out on an adventure to the meadow. All the children that went listened really well, walked very sensibly, and enjoyed playing under the oak tree. Thank you to Mrs Grey, who kindly accompanied us on Monday.

Thursday 9 May 2024 2324 Acorn - Postman Bear At last we have some nice warm and sunny weather. This means that our focus has shifted somewhat to outdoor play and experiencing all the fun that our outdoor area has to offer. There has been an outdoor obstacle courses, car tracks and plenty of water play. Everyone feels brighter and livelier and our emotional check in board reveals that most of us are feeling happy (and hungry)! We had the discussion before lunch.

Thursday 7 March 2024 2324 Acorn - Tidy Our book 'Tidy' tells the story of a badger who is upset by his untidy woodland home. He proceeds to cut down trees and lay concrete in order to tidy it up. It is only then that he realises that he has no food and his friends have nowhere to live. He starts to rebuild the wood, until everything is restored back to normal. This has given us plenty to think about and led to discussion about how we can look after the countryside.
