Shaping Bright Futures Together

If You Are Happy And You Know It

We have really enjoyed this week's book, singing along to the words and joining in with the actions. We are sitting well and are fully engaged in the book. We have also started learning a song for harvest.  We will learn a little more about farms and their work next week.

Each child has painted a picture of themselves, paying attention to their hair colour and eye colour to stick on the door of our room.  We have been talking about the our face and the functions of our eyes, ears, nose and mouth.  This has led to singing of 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' - a very popular song, which we sing really quietly and then really loudly.

We have started our phonics, by going on sound walks.  On our first adventure, we heard a strange noise on the other side of the school fence and further investigation revealed that it was a sit on lawn mower.  We have also identified the sound of cars, children, planes, birds, leaves blowing in the trees and on the floor.  We have also being practising our counting and colour matching.
