Computing
Intent
- Develop the key skills needed in a rapidly changing technological world
- Become equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to stay safe in a digital world
- Use a range of soft- and hard-ware
- Become confident and curious life-long learners in computing
Implementation
At Ashton under Hill First School we follow a rolling programme of topics using the Teach Computing curriculum with each year group learning through units within the same four themes. This supports a progression of skills throughout a child's time in school. These units cover the requirements of the National Curriculum alongside supporting discussions around online safety.
Each of the units focuses on a key computing skill using a variety of soft ware and hard ware. Hardware may include; Bee-Bots, Micro bits, laptops and iPads. Software may include; Microsoft 365, Scratch, Paint and Chrome Music Lab.
