Shaping Bright Futures Together

Jack and the Beanstalk

This week we have welcomed Miss Hayward into the Acorn Class team.  She has a wealth of experience, a good relationship with the children and will be a real asset to the team.

We have had great fun with our story, Jack and the Beanstalk.  It is a familiar story, that most of our children already know well.  We have been acting out the story and using our imagination to enhance it. We also have some story cards that we have been ordering and have used to retell the story.  Our maths, involved counting seeds. We then planted them: runner beans, peas and nasturtiums.

We practised the song about a Wiggly Worm, Slippery Sue and Frankie Fly and recorded it so that it could be played to the audience at the Poetry Plate competition on Friday morning.  The Friday morning children thoroughly enjoyed watching the event.

The final touches were added to our Mother's Day Cards.  The children lovingly used their cutting, tracking, painting and writing skills to make them.  Those children that were in school before the Christmas holidays planted a tulip to also present to their Mummies for their special day.  Happy Mother's Day, we hope that you get spoilt!
