Acorn 24 - You Choose
What a fun book this is. Each page is packed full with lots of different choices relating to clothes, food, homes, transport etc. We have taken turns to choose our favourites and have discovered that sometimes we like the same things as our friends and sometimes we don’t. We have then looked at ourselves and the similarities and differences between us.
We have each made our own puppet, with our face and a choice of imagined hair and style. Next week, we will play with these in our puppet theatre. On Thursday, we all wore yellow clothes in support of Young Minds. Knowing that yellow is a colour that we use to represent happiness, we made a sunflower, decorated with actual sunflower seeds (kindly given to us by Mrs Quilter).
The playdoh song has been a good way to encourage us to develop strength in our fingers; we have been practising rolling, splatting, pinching and squeezing the dough. We have started to look at the numbers 3 and 4, which represent our ages and have counted out the right number of items, and identified animals using clues about their initial sound and the sounds that each animal makes.
