Governor End of Year
As the weather turned ever hotter this week, we draw to the end of yet another school year. Looking back to last Autumn contractors were completing the re-roofing work and we welcomed Mrs. Holdsworth who joined us to take on the post of teaching our younger pupils in Holly class. Contractors are now in school again, but this time to make an exciting new space for the early years children. We thank Mrs. Barnett and the previous playgroup for providing funds that will help us meet the costs of this project.
We wish the year 5 children well as they move on to Middle School and that their memories of primary school will all be happy ones. As children leave we warmly welcome new reception children as they join us on their first steps of formal education.
At this time of year it’s appropriate to thank Mrs. Peacey and all her teaching colleagues and support staff who enable all the children to have every opportunity to enjoy a varied and interesting education at the school. It was good to be able to recently restart inviting parents into weekly assemblies and the school put on a fabulous performance to celebrate our Queens Jubilee.
We are all delighted that Ofsted recently gave the school a very creditable report, which confirms our view that the school continues to provide a place where children can thrive. The governors thank Mrs. Debra Lincoln for all the hard work she has done over the years as she recently retired as Chair of Governors at the same time that her term of office came to an end. We would also like to extend our thanks to Mr. Peter Taylor who also completed his time as a Governor this year. The governors hope that you all enjoy a well earned summer break and look forward to seeing you all in September.
Geoff Mills (Chair of Governors).
