Willow - W/C 25th April 2022

This week we started reading our new class book called ‘The Wild Robot’. We are going to use this book to help us write a setting description using adventurous vocabulary. The story is about a robot called Roz who has been marooned on an island. She needs to find a way to survive and she befriends many animals on the island.

The children produced a piece of art work using the front cover of this book. We used our painting skills we learned last term to produce a colour wash with watercolours and we created the scene using mixed media. We used charcoal, collage and pastels.

Our maths focus this week has been all about money. We have added coins to find amounts and we have learned to convert pounds into pence. The Year 4 children have used estimating to approximately add amounts of money.
