This week, as part of our maths lessons, the children learned about different angles. The children in Year 3 had to identify right angles in shapes. The children in Year 4 had to identify angles greater and smaller than a right angle and use the correct vocabulary. The class went on an angle hunt outside to see the different types of angles they could spot.
In English this week, the children have been learning about the features of explanation texts. They learned how to write an effective introduction, to use sequencing conjunctions and causal conjunctions to improve their writing.
In art lessons this week, the children learned how to use shading techniques to make an object appear 3D. We used various grades of pencil to achieve this.
In Topic lessons we have been focusing on the use of geographical vocabulary to describe the location of the Maldives. The children have been using the atlases to identify the neighbouring countries as well as where the Maldives are in relation to the equator and the tropics. They have produced some amazing fact files to showcase all of these facts and we have also completed some extra research to find out information about the climate and traditions. We then invited our parents to come in and take a look at our finished pieces which was a lovely end to our week.
