WC - 9th May 2022 Willow
This week as part of our English lessons, the children have been looking at different setting descriptions. We read an extract from the story 'Varjak Paw' where the author describes how the character views the city. The children used charcoal and pastels to create a city scene with different shapes to create the various buildings.
In our Maths lessons, the Year 3 children have been busy measuring and calculating perimeter. We created our names in bubble writing and have been calculating the perimeter of the letters as well as working on applying these skills in problem solving. There were some fantastic mental maths skills!
In Topic, the children have been exploring the difference between physical and human geographical features. We have produced group posters which explain what the terms mean, examples of the different types of features and where in the world we might expect to see these. Our Year 3 children have worked really cooperatively and produced some lovely work.
As part of our RE lesson, the children had a zoom session with Mrs Silverstone who works with the Orthodox Jewish community in Cheltenham. She talked to the children about the Synagogue and the Jewish faith.
The Year 4 children from Willow Class have had a great time at Condover. Please see a separate news blog to find out what they have been doing.
