The Queen's Hat

The Queen's Hat story gave an excellent start to our work on Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We made a vocabulary poster, displaying pictures of the Queen and some important words that we know and have learnt.

Each of us has decorated a tile, which will be used in a whole school memorial display. We have also been busy preparing for our street party by making hats, flags and table displays; and have made a banner to be used in the parade.   

Several of us made and planted beautiful pots as entries for the Platinum Jubilee garden pot competition.  These were also used to embellish the school grounds.  Thank you to all those children that entered, your efforts were imaginative, colourful and made a real difference to the success of the street party.

The Acorn Team would also like to wish all the children and their families a very happy half term holiday.  We look forward to seeing them all refreshed after a week's break.
