Reception class 2021-22 plant a tree

In Forest School this week, the Reception class were very busy preparing the school garden.  They dug over the boat planter and pulled out some of the large weeds that had been growing there. There was also opportunity to catch the rain and watch it run down the water chute that they had built.

The children planted a crab apple tree and surrounded it with summer flowering bulbs. Hopefully, they will be able to watch the tree grow throughout their school life at Ashton; how big will it be by the time they are in Year 5?
