Poetry Plate 2022
The Ashton Poetry Plate competition began in 2007 in memory of Teaching Assistant Mrs. Sonya Grey. Mrs Grey inspired poetry in the children and often wrote poems for special occasions during the school year.
We were able to celebrate today following a two year absence, and WOW what a superb treat it was. All the children worked very hard to choose a poem, with many written by the children themselves. Following heats held in every class over the last few days the class winners presented their poems to the whole school.
Thank you to our Judges, Mrs Debs Lincoln, Mrs Ali Stephenson and Mrs Sarah Bennett. The winners are announced:
1st Place awarded to Millie for her poem 'Elephant Package' written by Millie
2nd Place awarded to Noah for his poem 'My Feelings' written by Noah
3rd Place awarded to Penny for her poem 'I Love Space' written by Penny
Congratulations to everyone who took part, we are very proud of you all !
