Peepo
What a busy week we have had! The book Peepo has inspired us to think about how people used to live in the past. 'What's in the box' has encouraged some great conversation. Among the ideas for the use of a chamber pot, there was a hat, "a gigantic cup for a giant" and "a mixing bowl for making cookies"!
This week's maths challenge has been to peg up as many socks as possible within 30 seconds. The children were very competitive, with one child being able to hang up 5 within the time. We have also been playing rhyming games and practising our skills. On Wednesday and Thursday we made chocolate chip cookies, and the children made some to take home.
However, the highlights of the week was a visit from 'People who help us'. Mr and Mrs Pilcher brought Mr Bumble the horse, down to school and told us all about horse shoes. Mr Pilcher is a Farrier and showed us how he shoes a horse. Showing us how he cleverly moulds the shoe to the horse's foot, without hurting him.
We also had a visit from a Police Constable, who came into to tell us all about his work. He showed us his uniform, and we had opportunity to try some of it on. Thank you so much to all of our visitors, you have really inspired us.
