Oak Week Beginning 17th July 2023
What an emotional week this has been, it has whizzed by far too quickly.
On Monday we headed off to the Fladbury sports field for the Main Games. We joined all the other Year 5 children from around the hill to have a day of activities comprising bell boating, quick cricket, skittle ball and a run! The children performed brilliantly and mixed really well with their new class mates, it was a pleasure to see them with their potential new friends for Year 6!
On Wednesday we went for a whole school walk which was a real joy. The children had one of their final opportunities to spend time with their buddies and friends by having a play in the meadow. They explored the insects and played by the big oak tree, a firm Ashton experience!
Thursday brought our leavers assembly - it was another occasion for myself and Mrs Thornton so show case what a wonderful set of children this Year 5 are. They performed confidently and we were filled with pride.
Friday was a day full of fun, tears and giggles, signing shirts and saying thank you. Our final walk through the arch to a huge round of applause signalled the very end of term for our beautiful Year 5's. We will remember them very fondly and wish them all the best for the future.
