Oak - WB 19th September 2022
This has been a week of firsts; first trip to Evesham Leisure Centre for swimming lessons and our first trip to Forest School this term.
Swimming had a very successful start, lots of our children are very competent swimmers so most are in the deep end and are working on perfecting their stroke style and learning life saving skills. They were all very excited to get in the pool and were tired after this first session.
Our trip to forest school was equally exciting as we took part in some code breaking activities using animals and numbers. It was fantastic to be back in Forest school the children were reminiscing about their very memorable experiences when they were younger, proof that these experiences stay with them for a long time.
In addition to these two fabulous Learning Outside the Classroom opportunities, we also completed a memory mapping activity to help secure our knowledge of where Egypt is located. The children had great fun in groups drawing and adding in as much detail as they could to their maps. See the results in the gallery. They also produced some great fact files about the country.
In Science with Mrs Thompson, the children finished off the planet posters they had worked very hard on, these are now displayed in the classroom and can be used as a point of reference for this topic. They are a mine of information about the solar system and planets.
