Merry Christmas from Holly Class
We have had a lovely end to the Autumn term in Holly Class with lots of festive cheer! We had the most wonderful party day yesterday with a delicious lunch and party games galore! We also had a very exciting visit from Father Christmas himself, and his very helpful Elf! We all had the opportunity to have a chat to him and received a special early present.
This week we have also done some lovely artwork celebrating the seasons for our calendars, hopefully you all have them at home now, ready for the new year. We have enjoyed sharing the story of the Jolly Christmas Postman and the children have created lots of lovely learning opportunities from the stories inside; they have written cards, created paperchain patterns, played the game sent to Red Riding Hood, drawn maps of the Postman's journey and even built the Wolf's den and Santa Claus's grotto. As well as this the Year 1's have finished off our Great Fire of London history work, we investigated things that made the fire spread so quickly at the time and explored the firefighting methods, learning they were quite different to what we have now!
We do hope you enjoyed watching our Nativity, we were so happy to be able to share it with you. We had a lovely time watching and giggling all together on Tuesday afternoon. It has been a truly fabulous term here in Holly Class. I feel so proud of how much all of the children have achieved and am looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year. Have a lovely, lovely Christmas break everyone.
