Hawthorn wb 23rd May
This week, following all the children's hard work developing their writing skills, they have written their own stories based on Wanted: The Perfect Pet. Their stories were even split into three chapters! We very much enjoyed reading them all and it's amazing to see how far they've come since we started out in September.
There's been lots of learning about the current hot topic - the Queen's Platinum Jubilee! In Art, the children decorated Union Flag bunting and made letters for our window display. Even more exciting, they've all made a special clay trinket pot as a memento of the occasion. They created a marbled red, white and blue effect and then finished them off with a sparkly gold rim. The children are all very proud of their handiwork - as are we. They formed part of our window display at our Jubilee Celebration day and the children will be able to take them home and fill them with lots of little important bits and pieces.
