The Princess and the Pea
This week we read an African version of the traditional tale. We were very impressed with the clothes that they wear in the story and the different African languages that are used to say 'Hello'. We made our own version of the story by piling up cushions and putting different objects underneath to see if we could feel them. None of us could feel the pea!
The book has also inspired us in our counting. We each cut out a mattress and added it to our wall display; each day the tower has grown taller. We have been singing '10 in a bed' and acted it out as we sing, rolling along crash mats. We have also joined Holly Class to learn some new Easter songs.
One of the children found a feather and we practised writing with it and using it as paintbrushes. We have also done plenty of Easter dancing. However, the highlight of the week was Chi Chi dance. Our Acorn children joined the rest of the school to take part in a musical dance fitness and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would like to thank Nicky Seed for delivering such a fun and exhilarating session.
