25 Oak Class Week Beginning 7th April
We have been rounding off all our topics this week and completed our recount writing in English. After being inspired by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgays ascent of Mount Everest, we have looked at achievements of inspirational women. We have researched and written about 6 different women between us, telling their story and relating why they should be remembered as historical figures. The children have found out lots of new facts and realised how hard people have to work and how much determination it takes to achieve their dreams or take risks to make incredible steps forward for others. Ask your child all about who they wrote about.
Lots of children took part in the swimming gala this week and came back with a few medals. They represented us brilliantly and Mrs Gibbons was very proud of their attitude and efforts.
Our final assembly of this term was very enjoyable and Oak Class retold the Easter Story through poetry and drama. They also showed off their singing talents and thoroughly enjoyed the very cute performances of the younger children in the school. Following this they had a great time on an egg hunt around the grounds. This is one of the highlights of the school year and it is a delightful sight to see all the school running around with their partners hunting for a chocolaty treat.
To finish off our week we made some paper flowers which was a great way to round off the term.
The Oak team would like to wish you all a Happy Easter and hope you all enjoy the Spring break before we launch into the final term of this school year !
