Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

25 Hawthorn Wb 07 April

We've reached the end of another busy half term in which the children have worked hard and enjoyed their learning.

In English, they decided what type of slime they'd like to make and then wrote and illustrated their own set of instructions.

This week in maths, the Year 1s have been making and adding equal groups, while the Year 2s have come to the end of their measures unit by learning about temperature.

We've also finished our 'Street Detectives' topic. The children found out the difference between human and physical geographical features, and sorted photographs of Evesham accordingly.

In RE, the children made their own 'bonnets' ready for our performance in the Easter Service on Friday. And in computing, they had a go at creating an image of a snail in the style of Henri Matisse.

Finally, thank you for sending in all of your recycling!  We had a great day on Thursday designing our model of St Barbara's church in the village and then using all of our materials and joining skills that we had learned in our previous DT lessons to make our models.  The children completed their models on Friday and then evaluated their work.  A fun time was had by all.

On Friday we also said goodbye to Miss Snell who has been with us for the last 8 weeks.  It has been lovely to see her grow in confidence and then children will really miss her.

Thank you once again for all your support this term.  We hope that you have a relaxing and enjoyable time over the Easter break.
