Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

Hawthorn Wb 03 February

We've had a lovely week ending with lots of fun on World Book Day.

In English, we have been continuing with our work on Bob, Man on the Moon and the children have been finding out about using time conjunctions to move a story along.

In Maths, the year 1 children are looking at measurement and the Year 2 children have been completing their work on multiplication and division.  The times tables tests and homework will be starting soon!

In RE, the children created forgiveness trees and looked at how to say sorry and forgive each other using different scenarios.

In Science, the children learned about food chains and then made their own food chains with different animals, making sure that they all came from the same habitat.

Lots of funs was had in computing using the BeeBots to carry on with their work on programming.

The highlight of the week was World Book Day.  Thank you for all your help providing the super costumes.  We had a great time talking about our books, carrying out a book scavenger hunt and taking part in the school parade.  What a lot of lovely goodies and baddies!
