Oak Week Beginning 9th December 2024
Lots of us have been at half strength due to illness and feeling tired but still Oak Class have been soldiering on and working hard! We have been doing lots of assessments this week so some of our usual lessons have been on hold. However we have still produced some really informative writing on our penguin theme. The children have written an information leaflet all about a variety of different breeds of penguins from all over the world; we are now penguin experts! They have been trying very hard to focus on the structure of their sentences and have used lots of subordinate conjunctions to link their clauses together.
We have nearly finished our topic on Vikings and have been making some final decisions about our main key question : Where Vikings raiders or settlers? We have been assessing all the evidence we have gathered over the term and using it to write up our final judgements. Our sewing project is also nearly complete, most children have finished their little pouch and have filled it with the coins they made. Check out the gallery to see some examples.
Finally Year 5's entertained us all with their auditions for the play which they will perform next term. We were treated to songs, dances, some comedy and littles sketches that they had written. They did a brilliant job and I was very proud of the effort they put into what they performed and how brave they were to stand up and sing especially, on their own! I can't wait to see how these promising actors will flourish during the rehearsals next term.
