Oak Week Beginning 16th December 2024
Oak have been feeling extremely festive this week and have enjoyed all the end of term celebrations. We have made a calendar and Christmas card using our artistic skills and on Wednesday we completed a STEM activity to create snowflakes out of marsh mellows and cocktail sticks. It was very sticky but good fun.
For our calendars, we wrote a poem and our maths this week has had a very strong Christmas theme. Year 5's received their roles and scripts for the forthcoming play next term - excitement levels were high!!
On Wednesday the children had a very special visitor from the North Pole; they were very excited to see Santa and let him know their requests for Christmas gifts. Thursday was party day. We held an Inter- house quiz and the children were very competitive and very knowledgeable. Ruby house won overall. We played lots of party games and even had a snowman beetle drive!! In the afternoon they chilled out in front of a film.
By Friday we were all very tired but still had time for some fun. The children had a go at programming the Micro bits and turning them into digital signs with a festive message and music and some very flashy Christmas lights. We also made some very sweet little hats which kept their fingers very busy too!!
The Oak team would wish like all the parents and friends of Oak Class and very Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year . We will see you all in the new year!
