Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

24 25 Hawthorn Wb 14 October

It has been a busy week in Hawthorn with lots of work being carried out.

In English, we have been finding out about verbs, time conjunctions and exclamation marks.

In maths, both year groups have looked at fact families and then the year 1s looked at number bonds to 10 and the year 2s found out about number bonds to 100.

We practised our keyboard skills in computing and the children used the paintz app to write their names on a document and then tried to change the colour, size and font of their work.

The Hawthorn class orchestra was busy too this week.  We have been learning about the pulse of a piece of music over the last few weeks and this week the children used percussion instruments to keep the beat of the song, "Hey friends".  They really enjoyed playing very enthusiastically (and very loudly!) to this song.

Finally, it was our turn to go to Forest School and we were really lucky with the weather.  We had lots of fun looking at the autumn leaves and playing with our friends.
