Acorn 23 Amelia Earhart
We have been finding out about the life of adventurer, Amelia Earhart and this has led us to think about airplanes. We have learnt a new rhyme and practised flying through the sky. We have made paper airplanes and flown them, testing the most effective ways to hold them. We have also attempted to make planes out of playdoh!
We have looked at old planes and new, and studied the difference. They have also inspired our maths, as we used them to extend our positional and spatial language knowledge, and our number recognition as the children found the correct hanger to park their plane. In phonics, the children are working on selecting different animals which begin with a specific sound.
Our second story of the week, was about Yani the Not Yet Yeti. He is inspiring us to keep on trying, even when things are really tricky. Some of children have already earned Yeti stickers for their perseverance in class.
Finally, we would like to thank Mrs Bayley, who kindly decorated our windows with a beautiful winter scene. They have got us even more excited about Christmas.
