Acorn - Be Different....Be llama!
The highlight of this week has been our visit to the Alpacas, so kindly hosted by Ginnie from the Cotswold Vale Alpacas. We had the excitement of riding on a minibus and then the thrill of feeding the alpacas their breakfast. These creatures are gentle giants, and although they are inquisitive and taller than us, we did not feel intimidated, and later enjoyed standing in a field to meet the mummies and their babies. Thank you so much for the Cotswold Vale Alpacas team, the visit will be one that we talk about for many years to come. Click here to a video link - feeding the Alpacas.
We have been learning about the Peruvian rainforest, the home to many wonderful species of flora and fauna. We found out about parrots and worked with the Reception children to produce a lovely picture of a Macaw parrot.
Towards the end of the week, we moved on to the Halloween theme. We learnt a fun new poem and had great fun playing with some giant pumpkin shaped inflatable balls. We used apples to print pumpkin shapes and even had a go at carving a pumpkin.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our wonderful children for a lovely half term and hope that you all have a fantastic but relaxing half term. We look forward to seeing you all in November for more fun!
