Shaping Bright Futures Together

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

We have welcomed five children into the class this week and they have settled in really well.  They are making new friends and learning the routines of the day.  The focus of the week has been the Very Hungry Caterpillar.  We have 5 caterpillars that have taken up residence in the classroom, and we will be watching the life cycle as they grow and metamorphosis into a butterfly, in time to be released into the playground before half term.

Also, Lamby the lamb came to visit on Tuesday.  The children (and staff) had a lovely time stroking and feeding it.  We would like to thank Mrs Pilcher for bringing her in.

With warmer weather, we have been spending more time outside.  The children have really enjoyed playing in the water tray, catching fish or making water chutes and watching where the water runs to.    We have also been playing on the soft play equipment, where children can use their imagination and test their balancing skills.

We have also made playdough, worked on our listening skills and learnt the rhyme about Little Arabella Miller.  What a busy week it has been!
