Julian is a Mermaid

This week has been an odd combination of sport and merpeople!  This week's book is about a little boy who loves mermaids and dreams of becoming one.  We have imagined what we would look like if we were merpeople and practised our positional language by playing a mermaid game.  We have done a science experiment with frozen sand and found some treasures hidden inside.

We have also had sports focus with at least one race each day so that all of our children could participate.  We have had running and egg and spoon races, javelin and bean bag throwing, and obstacle courses. On Wednesday, we joined the rest of the school on playing fields for Sports Day, and everyone had a chance to do a running race on the track.  The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we celebrated with a picnic lunch on the school field.
