Christmas Jumper Swap
On the afternoon of Friday 2nd December, we will be holding a whole school (Reception to Year 5) Eco afternoon, where the children will be learning about Fast Fashion. As part of this, we have decided to hold a Christmas Jumper Swap. Each participating child (ie. a child that brings in at least one old but clean Christmas jumper) will exchange their jumper for a raffle ticket. This can then be swapped for a different jumper, after school, at 3pm. Acorn children can participate in the swap, if they are attending pre-school that day.
Research shows that 1 in 4 Christmas jumpers bought in the last year were thrown away or will not be worn again. Apparently, 1 in 3 of us buy a new Christmas jumper EVERY year. By taking part in this initiative, we will be reducing money spent and jumpers needlessly discarded.
