Shaping Bright Futures Together

The Colour Monster

This week, we have gone slightly off course and having briefly learnt a little about Japan, have thrown ourselves into work about the Colour Monster.  It has been Wellbeing Week in school, and the book has opened up numerous opportunities to talk about our feelings, giving us words for our emotions and a way to express them. The children coloured in a giant Colour Monster made by Mrs Clayton and shared their feelings as they did so. We also had a look at a spider plant with lots of babies and have each taken one home to nurture.

The theme of the week has been connectivity.  Each child has made a person, which has been displayed to show the whole class.  We have also read the beautiful 'Invisible Strings' which captures the unbreakable bonds between people.  One of the highlights of the week has been a yoga session with Holly and Hawthorn Class and a visit to the meadow, where we met up with the rest of the school who had gone for a longer walk.  The cakes that the Oak class made and shared, were a particular favourite.  It  has been a lovely week.
