Acorn: Martha maps it out
Martha maps it out has sent our learning in to space. We have been looking on Google Earth to see what the planet looks like from space and have also found out what Ashton-under-Hill looks like from above, as we zoomed in. We have started work on syllable clapping and have got really got at clapping out our names and the names of the planets of the solar system.
On Wednesday and Thursday, we moved our focus to Simon Sock, a lonely, odd sock who longs to find a friend. Eventually he finds a friend, but it is a banana! We celebrated our differences i.e. colour of hair and eyes, and how it makes no difference to friendship. We wore odd socks and discussed their differences and similarities and made a sock puppet to take home. We have also welcomed a new child into the class.
We had two exciting visitors to school. On Monday, we walked down to the playing field to see a tractor (it was too big to fit in the playground) and on Wednesday an ambulance visited with two wonderful paramedics. We would like to thank Mr and Mrs Quilter, and Faye and Emily, for taking time out of their busy schedules and coming to see us.
