Oak - Week Beginning 31st October 2022
We have had a great first week back to school and it was lovely to welcome the children back in class on Monday and hear all their news.
On Monday, in PSHE, we thought about what made us happy and created some posters for our classroom. We also took photos and mini video clips to put together a collection of all the best things that make us happy. Click here to watch the movie.
With Mrs Thompson on Wednesday, the children investigated angles and put tape on the desk and measured the angles where the tape intersected. The children had a great time working collaboratively and gained more experience using a protractor.
Thursday became a very sticky day as we started to create our own versions of Tutankhamun's death mask. We used cardboard, a paper mask and papier mache to create a 3D model of his face, adding a cardboard tube to create his beard. We have completed the first layer and will add more so it can dry to paint next week. We will share the finished results next week.
Friday saw our second visit to Forest School this term. Again, we had an amazing time and were treated to toasted marshmallows around the campfire. It was very atmospheric, and the children had a whale of a time.
