Shaping Bright Futures Together

It's Okay to be Different

We have been celebrating our differences this week, with a book that embraces individuality and our acceptance of others. We have enjoyed looking at the different illustrations and the characteristics of each one.

All the children have chosen some boxes, with which to junk model. Everyone came up with their own individual ideas and plans, and amongst others, we have unicorns, a car, a helmet, a potty, and Spiderman!  It is lovely how imaginative and enthusiastic the children are.

We have started syllable clapping and the children are really good at clapping out the rhythm of each other’s name and have been using the vocabulary of more and less in our play. We are developing our gross motor skills through dance, focusing on moving up and down (our earliest mark making move).

Every day, we have put out the puppets that the children made last week, to play with in our puppet show.  They have been so popular, that one child even fell asleep cuddling his puppet!

The classroom is now full of our artwork, and it would be really lovely if you could come and see your child’s work after school next week.  There will be an open classroom at 3pm every day next week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) where you will have opportunity to have a guided tour of the classroom by your pre-school child.
